Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Virtual Assistant?
A virtual assistant is someone who is self-employed and provides professional administrative, technical, or creative assistance to clients remotely from a home office. VAs tend specialise in different areas from social media management to technical support and traditional personal assistant tasks.
How can you help me?
I can support you in a number of ways to free up your time. During a Discovery Call we will discuss the areas you would like to outsource. If you know you need support but don’t know where to start we can work together to see what can be outsourced so you can focus on what you enjoy.
If you need some support in working out processes and goals but don’t need regular support at the moment we can sit down together for an Untangle Session. During these sessions we go through everything you do and need to do and brainstorm processes and goals together.
It also means you receive the support you require without the additional costs that come with an employee e.g. equipment, office space, office supplies and software.
How much do you charge?
My hourly rate is £30 an hour which are tracked and rounded up or down to the nearest minute.
I also have retainer packages ranging from 5 to 20 hours a month. I track my time using Toggl and can provide a timesheet at the end of each month.
Do you just work remotely, or can you work from my office?
I predominately work remotely but can also work from your office with advance notice and dependant on location.
I know I need support but don’t know how. Can you help me?
Yes of course. I offer a free discovery call where we can discuss areas I can support you and source the suitable tasks.
I also offer a two hour disentangle session where we will go through everything you need to do and create a clear process for your tasks whether you outsource or continue to manage yourself.
How do I know how many hours I need?
We can look at what you will be outsourcing and work together for the most suitable number of hours. The number of hours often changes as we continue to work together and keeping excellent communication is crucial especially in the early stages of our working relationship.
What applications do you use?
My main application is Office 365 and I use OneDrive to store my files. I also have access to Google Drive and Dropbox if required.
I use a number of software programmes for email marketing and automations, websites and funnels etc.
I love learning new software so if you prefer to use something I have not used before I am happy to learn and pick things up quickly.
What security measures do you have in place?
I am fully insured and have a contract that will need to be signed before any work can commence. I am also the sole user of my laptop that is encrypted. Any paperwork is stored in a locked filing cabinet and electronic files are stored on OneDrive.
I run my business on my own and I am nervous about taking someone else on.
You are not alone, this is completely understandable. Most people feel like this when they first start to outsource. The key is trust and communication. My blog How to Find the Right VA for me has some great tips and might be a good place to start.
I am always happy to chat through your needs to help put your mind at ease and we can take it a step at a time to ensure you are comfortable with everything.
